April 9th 2015, a brand new diesel generator has been set into operation at the Siemens site in Erlangen/Germany.

The 80-kilowatts-engine is going to be set major fundamentals for the studies in the IREN2 project. A similar generator will be applied in the village of Wildpoldsried to support stability and secure autarkic grid operation – as an electrical island. The generator, environmentally friendly powered by vegetable oil, will be set up near the sports ground.
